Hi all,

Has anyone here used Amazon MP3? I'm thinking about trying it out, but I wanted to get more information about it first. Does anyone know how accessible it is? If you've tried it, I'd like to hear your comments. Thanks.

Love it. It is very accessible. THe browsing, installing the mp3 downloader, purchasing, and downloading (which is automated with the downloader software) are all very accessible using Jaws, Window Eyes, and system access. The selection is increasing daily, and the prices are reasonable.

You buy mp3's or mp3 albums online and put them on to your computer. It's legal, and pretty cheep, and very accessible.

Love it! I agree it is very accessible and good prices as well. It gives you an option to have your music automaticly open in a default music player, or none at all. I chose the none at all. I even moved the default folder, so it isn't in my music. The selection is large and growing!

Thank you Amazon!

I was browsing through it last night, but I didn't like how the song previews sounded. They sounded very crappy to me. Do the songs that you purchase sound the same way as the previews? If so, then I'm very disappointed. They don't sound like they're very good quality.

no no no.
The sound quality of the downloads are much better than that of the sampler. And as others have said before, it's accessible. I also was able to change my download folder to that other than my music.
Good prices too.

Thanks. It's good to know that it is accessible, and that the purchased songs are of much better quality than the samples. When I heard the samples, I was like, wow! They can't seriously be selling these things!

the downloaded material is at 256 kbps. very high quality.

You also may have been listening to some track samples that are not available to download which are lower quality. They open up in a new window. The songs are high quality like others have said.

No no. I was listening to ones that can be downloaded. They just sounded really bad to me, so I was really curious if the purchased songs sound the same. Everyone here has said that the actual purchased songs sound much better than the samples, so I think I'm going to try it.

Question for you guys:

Last night I downloaded the Amazon MP3 downloader, and then I tried downloading the free song they offer, so that I could make sure it worked and all, but when I went to download the song, I got a message saying something about it being blocked for security reasons. Do any of you know what I need to do to let my computer know that it's okay for me to download the songs?

when you get that message, you should be able to press tab and find and activate an unblock button. this will allow the program in windows firewall.

When you guys signed up, did you have any problems downloading music? I've tried to download several of the free songs that they offer, so that I can see if the MP3 downloader is working, but it won't work for some reason. Every time I try, I get a message saying that it cannot connect. I contacted customer service, and the first time, they told me to uninstal and re-install the downloader, so I did, but it didn't work. I wrote them again last night, and they told me a couple of things to do, but it just doesn't seem to be working for me.
